Matt Penney, PT, DPT, ATC, is the owner, general manager and head coach of Sports Rehabilitation Unlimited LLC.
He is a licensed physical therapist and athletic trainer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Tufts University, a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Columbia University, and a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University.
Matt has worked in the realm of sports physical therapy and sports medicine for his entire career as a physical therapist. He has worked with recreational/competitive aging and middle-aged, semi-professional, collegiate, high school, adolescent and youth athletes to rehabilitate their injuries and return them safely to their field/court/rink etc. Matt has trained extensively in the Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Approach to manual and manipulative therapy. He has his Level 1 Certification in Blood Flow Restriction Training from Smart Tools.
Matt is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), American Association of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT) and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
Matt is also a published author in the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Practice, Sports Medicine Arthroscopy Review and International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health journals.
